Harpenden Cricket Club

WELCOME TO THE 2008 SEASON

Welcome to Harpenden Cricket Club.

Our website will give you an insight into Harpenden Cricket Club including details of membership, fixtures, cricket and leisurewear, social events, and other news, as well as links to our sponsors and other interesting websites. Please feel free to contact us for further details or alternatively why not visit the Pavilion and meet some of the members. For the latest news please see below.

The bar is open on Saturday and Sunday evenings and all weekday evenings when a match is being played on the Common (which from May through to the end of July is virtually every night). The club has started a programme of pavilion refurbishment; the building has been re-roofed, a new groundsman's store has been built and the changing rooms upgraded. A new electronic scoreboard has been installed, generously donated by Ernie Tyerman, a past player and ex-President of the Club.

We now run 5 Saturday and 3 Sunday sides playing in the Hertfordshire Cricket League and the Slazenger Chess Valley League respectively.

At Colts level we run sides at Under8/9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 levels with a number of Colts playing at County level. We have now a Minis section for the Under 7's.

In recognition of our work with young cricketers and our work in the community we are accredited by ECB and Sport England with 'Clubmark' status and have been designated as a 'Focus' club.

Harpenden Cricket Club was established in 1863 and we have played on Harpenden Common since that date. Over the years many changes have, not suprisingly, taken place including amalgamating with Harpenden Ferndale CC and Harpenden Wednesday CC and ITN CC.
